Introduction:

A business model is not as same as a business idea or business plan. Business model exercise bridges between a business idea and a business plan.  It describes the logic and strategic relationships among business components. It explains how an enterprise or business creates, delivers and captures values. It determines the success (failure) of a business. Many great ideas fail due to not having the right business model. For example, you will find that with the same products (or services) some people failed and some succeed, it happens because they had a different business model.This is a 02 days-long training-workshop on Business Model Design and Innovation (BMDI), first of its kind in Bangladesh. 

And today's rapidly changing business context, it's a high time to focus on business model innovation, as Vala Afshar, evangelist at Salesforce said: "The difference between market makers and market makers is not product innovation, its business model innovation". 

Program Objectives

The program is focused based on two themes; firstly, turning a business idea into a business model and secondly, applying innovation into a business model. After completing this training, participants shall be able to transform their business idea into a business model and be able to find winning strategies for their business and able to present their business model to the investors and partners. 

This training will provide the participants with;

Program Content

  • Business Model Canvas: a tool to design the business model.
  • Elements of a business model: customer segmentation, customer Relationships, channel, value proposition, cost structure, revenue structure etc.
  • Understanding the concept of Innovation 
  • Innovation techniques applied in the business model: problem-solving, un-bundling, multi-sided platform, freemium, hook & bait etc. 
  • Business Model Design and Innovation Process: innovation thinking framework, prototyping, epicenters of business model etc. 
  • Examples of breakthrough innovation and a cutting-edge business model.
  • Designing Business Model prototype 
  • Assess and validate the business model

Methodology

This program is designed based on philosophy of human-interaction and learning-by-doing. Methodologies includes case method, team exercise and interactive discussions. Firstly participants are oriented on knowledge and tools on content matter. Then they are given a real-life case to practice their learning and gradually they quire knowledge. Problem solving is a key to the innovation

 The methodology of this training is different in many ways than other conventional entrepreneurship skill development training. Rather than crowding a number of spokespersons, we focus on the ability of participants and we create an environment where participants learn from each other. Learning retention is proved to be very high in this method.
